BLACK SABBATH SELF TITLED DEBUT VINYL FIRST PRESSING WITH PHILIPS CREDIT UK VERTIGO SWIRL 1970.
First issue released on the ''swirl'' Vertigo label with big logo above spindle hole and the wording ''Vertigo'' below spindle hole and 'A PHILIPS RECORD PRODUCT' text.
Vinyl has a few light hairlines on both sides,still retains a great shine.
Side A plays very well with no skips or jumps. Crackles in the quiet parts. Would grade side A audio as VG+
Side B plays very well with no skips or jumps. A few pops and crackles in the quiet parts. Would grade side B audio as VG.
Overall still a great listen.
Outer sleeve has an erroneous copyright warning stating that “Copyright subsists in all Stereo recordings…”. Subsequent ''swirl'' Vertigo reissues corrected copyright warning to “Copyright subsists in all Vertigo recordings…” Retains a nice square spine.(see pic 11) Would grade a VG+
Inner swirl sleeve has 'MADE IN ENGLAND British Patent No. 800513 & 973939 No splits or rips. Would grade as VG+
Overall a very good example of this Classic Rare First pressing of Sabbaths finest album.
