This is a UK first pressing of Black Sabbath's classic Master of Reality. I have played this in full and give a detailed play-grading below.
This has the following 1st press matrix numbers:
Side 1: 6360050 1Y//1
Side 2: 6360050 2Y//1
The box cover shows normal signs of wear, age and use with laminate splits, flaking and peeling, creases, some touch-ins to wear on the folds, prominent wear at the corners etc, but it is intact and fully usable.
The Vertigo swirl inner sleeve has various signs of age and use, including seam splits and some general age-related discolouration, creases etc. There are also some obvious repairs to one side (see photo).
The record has numerous marks and visible signs of play and use including various surface marks and hairlines and some scratches etc. It also has a slight edge-warp, although this is more obvious when the disc is rotating on the turntable (especially side two). I would visually grade this record around Fair (F). However, despite appearances, this copy sounds pretty good and plays much better than you might expect from its visual appearance. I have played the entire record in full from start to finish and found the whole thing enjoyable to listen to with relatively few points to note. On an original 1st press of Master of Reality there are several parts which are always hard to find with great audio (e.g. 'Embryo'; 'Solitude'; 'Orchid'; the spooky quiet ending to 'Children of the Grave'). For the sake of completeness I would mention some background noise in the run-ins/outs, fades, silent grooves and intros and some small clicks here and there, but generally there is nothing overpowering and most of the 'difficult' parts mentioned above played well. The exception is 'Solitude' which had more clicks and crackle than other parts. I'd say that 'Solitude' was still acceptable to listen to, but it's far from perfect. Overall, I would say that this album play-grades around Very Good (VG), or a bit lower, but with 'Solitude' only around Good (G) to Fair (F).
Detracting features not covered above: None. Not a perfect copy by any means, but a playable, original first pressing.

Where gradings are given these are based on the UK Record Collector grading system (see below) and are visual gradings only, unless the listing specifically states that it is a play-grading.
I use the UK RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM. This grading system differs from some other grading systems, in particular the Goldmine grading system. Please make sure that you are familiar with the UK record collector grading system before you bid.
Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
Fair: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
Poor: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
Bad: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
Plus (+) or Minus (-) are added where items fall between gradings. I only ever use one plus or minus.
