Description
Here is a lovely rare original UK vinyl copy of Master of Reality by Black Sabbath on the first press Vertigo swirl label from 1971.
The original six-panel poster (EX) looks like it has only been opened once (for my careful examination and photos). You are assured there's no pinholes, no tape residue, no staining or foxing, no writing, no rips and no creases other than the original factory folds, as you can see from my photos.
The disc (EX) has only been lightly and carefully played with hardly a mark noticeable when closely examined under strong halogen light. Both Vertigo swirl/spiral labels are unmarked - there are only minimal signs of any spindle marks and certainly no evidence of any spindle wear whatsoever.
The disc lies perfectly flat on the turntable and plays vibrantly with no nasty distracting clicks or jumps. I have playchecked it, all the way through, and playback from this very first pressing is an amazing experience, taking you right back to the studio in the early '70s and capturing all the energy of an incredibly tight Sabbath performance; the music comes loud and clear through the speakers, from Ozzy's reverberated coughing fit to the sinister warmth of Tony Iommi's relaxed riffing, through some frenetic guitar solos to the insistent clatter of Children of the Grave and some surprisingly sensitive flute.
The gorgeous deluxe laminated box sleeve (VG+) is in unusually fine condition with no unwanted writing, no sticker damage and just some age-related edge/corner wear, some unbroken laminate lift here and there, and some inevitable creasing/wear and tear on the opening flaps - overall a strong and very presentable example of this iconic sleeve.
Good luck if you are bidding - I carefully pack vinyl using professional packaging and post with the disc removed from the sleeve to prevent knifing during transit.
