Here is another gem from my own mostly Nr Mint personal collection (which I am selling off gradually to lessen the pain...) I have been collecting very rare vinyl for a long time now. As a collector, I have been very critical about the condition of the records I have chosen to buy over the years, and only selected the most pristine 1st pressings from all around the UK.  My collection is therefore filled with not only the rarest UK 1st pressings, but also records of the highest grade quality condition, some of the best you will probably ever come across. Sadly, most now have to find new homes. As I said, I am very strict with my grading, so when I describe a record as Nr Mint - you can rest assured that it will be a true Nr Mint record (I never grade any records as Mint because Mint does not exist in the world of vintage vinyl - in my opinion, as soon as the record has been taken home from the store it is no longer mint!!)

This is one of a number of very rare swirlies that I'm listing this week. You are bidding on a STUNNING ORIGINAL UK Vertigo Records 1970 UK Vertigo Swirl 1st Pressing of the Legendary Debut LP by Black Sabbath!!! It is the 1970 UK 1st PRESSING on the Vertigo Spiral Label and rare gatefold sleeve with 'Warning' text!!! It is in STUNNING Nr Mint condition - it even comes complete with its original MINT poly-lined vertigo swirl inner sleeve!! Apart from it's rarity, what makes this record so very special is it's amazing Mint- condition!!! I don't need to explain how Vertigo pressings have suffered over the years, due in no small part to their un-laminated sleeves. They usually turn up nowadays looking totally trashed! Not this one. It is one of the most pristine Vertigo Swirls you will ever see, and with it being the 1970 UK first ever pressing of Black Sabbath's 1st ever record this is seriously rare!!! It is absolutely stunning with Mint- Vinyl, Ex++ Un-laminated Gatefold Sleeve, right through to its crisp, white Mint poly-lined Swirl inner sleeve!!! Finding a complete UK Vertigo Swirl 1st press copy of this very influential album in this condition today is almost impossible!!! Like all my auctions, it has a £2.99 start and NO reserve, so what you bid id what you pay! If you are trying to put together a Mint- collection of UK Vertigo Swirl pressings, then this is the place to start!!!

All you really need to know is that the cool 1970's thick & chunky vinyl is in Nr Mint condition!!! It is visually and aurally stunning with NO marks at all - not even a hairline!!! It shines with that glass-like 'just pressed' look and feel, it really looks as if this record came off the press yesterday!!! Whether you are a fan looking for the best pressing out there or just looking for a sound investment, the value of this record will just rise and rise. These LP's simply do not turn up in this condition anymore!!! Please do not miss this one as this is the best example of this rare record that I have ever seen!!!

As you'd expect, the cool 1st press Swirl centre labels are in Stunning  Nr Mint condition!!! There are NO Scribbles. NO lifting or Bubbling, NO unwanted writing/scribbles, just the lightest trace of a spindle line on side 2, this record has only ever been played once (at most twice) ever before!!! The labels retain all they original whiteness with no yellowing or grubbiness!!! The gramophone rims containing the all important 1st press matrix are also Mint-.

The first thing you notice about this record is its incredible thickness and weight (it is super heavy!) Importantly, the vinyl is also in Stunning NR MINT condition - completely blemish-free with absoloutly NO marks to the surfaces at all - not even a paper-line!!! This disc looks like it came off the master press this morning!!! It has all the deep shine a newly pressed record that as only ever been played once or at the most twice before!!!  Impossible for an original UK Vertigo Swirl 1st pressing of this album!!! The record still retains ALL of its original gloss and shine and has NO dulling and NO nasty greying of the grooves!!! I am very pleased to state that this is a record that also plays as good as it looks!!! It it has NO jumps, NO skips, NO between track crackle and NO nasty loud pops!!! The thick quality pressed chunky 1960's vinyl looks and feels great (it is super heavy and thick!) I have no hesitation whatsoever with grading this vinyl as a strong Mint-!!! Its as simple as that. It is that most elusive of things, a true Mint- UK Vertigo Swirl 1st pressing of Black Sabbath's debut album!!! (suitable for the highest grade Mint- Swirl collection - you will not find a better example!!)

The original 1st press Marcus Keef-designed un-laminated gatefold sleeve is also in superb condition. It is unbelievably clean, tidy and unblemished!!! On the rare occasions these show up they are usually completely worn out. Vertigo's policy of not laminating their sleeves during the early 1960's & 70's always leads to these sleeves turning up grubby and worn-out looking today. This one is not!!! It still retains ALL of its original stiffness and BOX SHAPE with virtually NO wear!!! It folds out perfectly to reveal the inner, which is completely unblemished!!! The sleeve lies perfectly FLAT with NO RING WEAR and a solid strong spine with MINT legible text!!! It retains all its beautiful factory satin finish!!!The sleeve has NO unwanted writing/scribbles!!! Anyone familiar with early UK Vertigo sleeves will appreciated how rare an original sleeve in this condition is!! It is a truly outstanding example and easily grades as Excellent++, you will not find a better UK 1st press example!!!  Of course, this record comes with its correct and original poly-lined Vertigo Swirl inner sleeve. These also always suffer from horrendous seam splitting and yellowing, and for some reason often become separated from the poly-lining! They also always seem to turn up with at least one split seam (usually the bottom where the record has knifed through) This one is different - this however is a stone cold Mint Vertigo swirl inner sleeve!!! It lies perfectly flat with no seam splits and no nasty creases!!! It retains all its vibrant whiteness and has none of the yellowing common with these inners!!! A stunning example!!! A massively rare UK Vertigo 1st pressing indeed - especially in this condition!!!  This is one of those LP's with a seriously underestimated rarity value!!! You just never see this record anymore in the UK, and on the rare occasions they turn up it is NEVER in Nr Mint condition like this one!!! A great album and a sound investment for the future! Don't Miss!

When this LP was released it was pressed in very small quantities as Black Sabbath were, at that point, an unknown UK band. However as we all know, they went on to lay down their own particular brand of fuzzed out heavy metal and pretty much re-defined the whole genre s a result. This is thus the LP every fan of classic rock/metal wants in their collection, and is by far the hardest of all the Black Sabbath LPs to get hold of. In this condition it is impossible!!! As such the very first 1970 UK Vertigo Swirl Press is in very high demand today (especially in this NR MINT condition!!!).  An absolutely essential (and rare) record to own!!!
