Description
BLACK SABBATH - PARANOID The all time classic Sabbath / Ozzy album. In its rarest and VERY first release form!!!
This is the very first release LP, highly sought after, highly collectable. A real investment as they are becoming increasingly more difficult to find.
The first edition PARANOID released on VERTIGO label - number 6360 011 in 1970 Side A of vinyl label was a large spiral vertigo insignia, Side B was white with large Vertigo spiral at top. Release number 6360 011 / 6360 011 2 Matrix numbers on VERY FIRST RELEASE 1Y - 1 2Y - 1
This, is THE VERY FIRST RELEASE!!!
Condition. Vinyl Record - well, the main thing is - it plays all the way through! a little background noise at times as you would expect on a release from 1970... Light surface markings only. Light spindle marking on label. I've seen these graded elsewhere as 'excellent' when they are clearly not... I would be conservative and grade this just under excellent, although there is no jumping, no deep markings. It is a record that has been played (as it should be!) but any markings on the vinyl itself are light and cosmetic. (this is an incredibly honest detailed revue of the album condition as I know how much this is worth to collectors!)
It has the original Inner sleeve with the large swirl on either side and cutout in the middle. Some staining on the inner sleeve as is usual with 40yr old white paper...
The record itself has been kept in a clear plastic inner sleeve to try and keep condition as best as possible.
The Gatefold cover is VGC, light surface wear on the black surface, 1 very small indent on front cover about the size of a pencil end (just a compression, not puncture!) Spine - Light surface scuffing Corners - some surface wear Bottom and top edge surface wear. Inside gatefold VGC, nothing to pick up on. Back cover - similar to front, light surface wear. It has a small area on bottom right corner where surface has been lifted, looks like possibly from a sticker? Can be seen on pictures included.
Overall, this is a great condition item and highly sought after. A real investment into a piece of Heavy Metal History!
