1970 would serve as the true dawn of heavy metal as we know it with Birmingham royalty Black Sabbath not only releasing their iconic self-titled debut LP but also their even more legendary sophomore follow-up Paranoid within the same 12-month bracket. An essential listen for any individual with even the mildest interest in distorted guitar-based rock, the material feels timeless over 50 years on with vital blueprints laid for everything from psychedelic rock to doom and thrash metal scenes that would amass over the following decade. From the still unfortunately relevant today industrial war machine takedown that is iconic opener 'War Pigs', to the riffing wizardry of the title-track to the utter classic 'Iron Man', albums don't really get more perfect than this metallic gem. AAA cut from the original stereo master tapes by Kevin Gray, this audiophile reissue delivers the crispest pressing of Paranoid to ever grace sound systems, packaged in a high-quality glossy cover with "tip-on" jacket, an old-school aesthetic nod to the golden age of vinyl.
