FULLY PLAY GRADED VINYL - FROM START TO FINISH - EXCELLENT+ PLAYBACK! READ THE FULL, DETAILED DESCRIPTION.

PLAYGRADED: not simply glanced at with a superficial visual grading, fully played and graded throughout (listened to on headphones - the most revealing playgrade method, with no exterior audio distractions)

Excellent looking vinyl with only a couple of superficial surface marks and a few light hairlines/sleeve removal marks/scuffs.

Side One: audio is consistently EX+ if not even better on the louder tracks. There is the faintest background noise (more like hiss than crackle) which is totally obliterated on the loud tracks. Even "Planet Caravan" plays very nicely and is one of the better versions I've heard, with not much background noise audible. Just a few very faint clicks at the end of "Iron Man". Superb tone and volume throughout on this very first UK pressing.

 Side Two: plays just as well at the start of Side Two with again just the lightest background noise. This is definitely one of the best playing copies I've seen/heard. The quiet sections on "Hand Of Doom" are again better than the normally very crackly audio, plays as EX to EX+ again (better than this on the louder sections). One noticeable click in the run in before "Rat Salad". A couple of very minor pops halfway through "Fairies". Easily an EX overall, all of the comments on audio above are very minor and are me being very picky indeed, none of the 'issues' are in any way intrusive and do not spoil this superb copy at all.

Plays right through with no jumps or sticks.

OUTER SLEEVE:

Original very 1st press unlaminated gatefold sleeve with the crucial credit to "Management/Jim Simpson, Big Bear, Birmingham" on the inner gatefold. This is absolutely vital to being a first press sleeve, as this was immediately withdrawn upon release due to Sabbath parting company with Simpson. The sleeve was then reissued without this credit. And as for the laminated sleeves, they are 3rd press and were issued with the smaller swirl logo label and VERTIGO above the spindle hole. 

As well as the incredibly rare version this is, it is also in superb condition with no real visible wear to the front and rear covers, almost impossible to find this in such condition as it is usually rubbed and worn and often has a 'greenish' border to the front cover (this is where the folds of the front cover rub through the surface). The previous owner has, however, applied a black marker around the edges which whilst hard to show on the photos, is visible upon close inspection. It is most noticeable on the spine where they have left a patch where the text is - this is where the greener tint is visible. Overall though, I would still say it is one of the best sleeves I've seen, despite the black 'border'. The inner gatefold is lovely and clean and free from any graffiti of any kind.

LABELS:

Excellent, NO graffiti other than what looks like a bit of blue pen around the spindle hole on the swirl A side label, a few spindle traces visible, but still very nice condition!

INNER SLEEVE:

Original Swirl inner sleeve in excellent condition, just a couple of very minor rips near the poly centre (see photos) but no seam splits and no graffiti other than a neat 6360011 written in pencil...so easily removable. Comes with the correct date code of 10/70 - for an October 1970 release.
