Description

Here is a rare first pressing of Black Sabbath's much overlooked fifth album, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, on WWA (WWA 05) from 1973, complete with original unsplit rough paper inner. Many people are unfamiliar with this gem of an LP, overshadowed of course by the strength of the first four but if you have yet to come across it please let me gently ease you in the direction of the title track plus A National Acrobat and Spiral Architect.

Here is a tidy example of this package. The non-laminated gatefold sleeve is perfectly presentable with all strong straight edges, a straight unfeathered opening edge, a few little creases and a little rubbing at the top of the spine (the spinal text is fully readable). There are no tears, rips or unwanted writing, and this black sleeve has NOT been touched up with the dreaded black felt tip pen nor messed about with in any way. The predominantly white rear and the interior panels exhibit some foxing but overall this strong sleeve merits a grade of VG-.

The disc looks to have been very little played, as there is little sign of spindle activity on these labels. Both sides of the vinyl look fine in natural light and show up just a few light handling marks when examined under harsh halogen lighting. This is certainly not a worn out and abused copy. This fine flat disc grades VG.

The original flipback paper inner printed on both sides with lyrics and credits is in fine presentable condition with just a little browning near the edges but no splitting.
