 Rare, Original 1st Press Vinyl LP Vertigo swirl labels

First Pressing indicators:

  • First issue released on the ''swirl'' Vertigo label with big logo above spindle hole and the wording ''Vertigo'' below spindle hole and 'A PHILIPS RECORD PRODUCT' text.
  • Comes in a gatefold cover and with a ''swirl'' inner bag. The gatefold cover is slightly textured compared to later issues and has different upper-case only credits on inner gatefold.
  • Vertigo inner sleeve states: 'MADE IN ENGLAND British Patent No. 800513 & 973939 - PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS - TO AVOID SUFFOCATION KEEP THOS BAG AWAY FROM BABIES AND CHILDREN'
  •  Erroneous copyright warning stating that “Copyright subsists in all Stereo recordings…”. Subsequent ''swirl'' Vertigo reissues corrected copyright warning to “Copyright subsists in all Vertigo recordings…”
  • The first (this release) and 2nd versions had band member and production credits in capital letters throughout. Subsequent ''swirl'' Vertigo reissues changed all credits into upper and lower case and also adds in composition and publishing credits.
  • All issues released on the ''swirl'' Vertigo misspell Ozzy Osbourne as Ossie Osborne.

Condition:
Vinyl/labels: VG+
Some light hairlines/surface marks visible, mainly under a harsh light. Has been play-tested in its entirety and it plays with no real faults to mention, just a couple of very light tics in a couple of quiet sections. Superb audio clarity!


Gatefold Sleeve: VG+
Some light ring wear/creasing. Previous owner had taped all the side edges (for protection) and there is tape residue visible, plus a scuff down the rear spine edge where the tape has been removed. Also a scuff to bottom left corner of inner gatefold - see pics. Previous owner has written his name in top right corner of rear sleeve.

Vertigo Swirl Inner Sleeve: VG+
Light ring wear/creasing, but no tears or splits.
Important Information: Postage & Packaging
Records are packaged safely using strong stiff cardboard and extra bubble wrap to ensure they arrive in the same condition as in my description. I also remove record from outer sleeve and original inner sleeves, to prevent seam splits. I am a record collector myself and understand the importance of safe packaging to ensure safe delivery.
