Description
Offered here is an original 1970 UK first pressing LP of the legendary self-titled debut album Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath, released on Vertigo Records (VO 6).
Recorded in late 1969 and released on Friday the 13th of February 1970, Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward birthed heavy metal with this landmark debut. Produced by Rodger Bain, the album packs raw blues-driven riffage, sinister atmosphere, and doom-laden rock classics including Black Sabbath, The Wizard, N.I.B., Behind The Wall Of Sleep, and Warning.
This genuine UK first issue features original machine-stamped VO 6 matrices and includes the original Vertigo polylined swirl inner sleeve. As noted, the center swirl pattern on the Side A label and inner sleeve has been hand-coloured in pink ink by a previous owner.
Grading VG+/EX, this remains an iconic, great-playing UK original copy of a fundamental rock masterpiece.
