Description
Here is a rare and coveted copy of Black Sabbath Vol 4 on the Vertigo spaceship label (6360 071) from 1972. Most copies of Vol 4 are to be found on the swirl label but a very small batch was released on Vertigo's delightful Spaceship label, copies of which are now highly sought after. These extremely rare copies come with the 'poster' housed inside the gatefold cover along with the disc, rather than stapled into the centre of the sleeve, booklet-style.
Here is a tidy example of this package. The non-laminated lightweight gatefold sleeve is perfectly presentable with a certain amount of creasing here and there, and some edgewear along the top and bottom and spine. There are no tears, rips or unwanted writing, and this sleeve has NOT been touched up or messed about with in any way. The sleeve well warrants a grade of G+.
Inside the sleeve can be found the colour fold-out poster of the band that is also found stapled in on swirl sleeves. There are, of course, no staple holes in this insert, which is also in presentable condition, with no rips, tears or unwanted staining or writing, although there is creasing of the top corners (not dog-eared though).
The Spaceship pressing Vertigo vinyl looks fine in natural light although when examined under harsh halogen lighting you can see some light wispy handling marks and hairlines which do not affect play. This is certainly not a worn out and abused copy. This fine flat disc grades VG-.
Here therefore is a rare chance to obtain a fully complete and correct Spaceship pressing of Master of Reality by Black Sabbath.
