Description
BLACK SPIRITS "Festival Of New Black Poets In America" LP.
1972 release by Black Forum/Mowtown Records B-456-L first pressing. Recorded live at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York.
Stamped "PROPERTY OF MOTOWN RECORDING STUDIOS DO NOT REMOVE FROM PREMISES" on front and back cover. The front is partially unreadable because of the black ink on the black cover. The stamp on the back is partially smeared. Both can be seen clearly in the photos. The Motown record library vinyl protective sleeve with the original check-out card is included.
PLAY TESTED Excellent (VG++) VINYL is beautiful and plays as good as it looks. Both labels are pristine.
Very Good Plus (VG+) COVER has minor shelf wear, mainly on the opening edges. The corners are firm, there is no ring wear or seam splitting.
In the early 1990s, I worked at the recording studio that was formerly Motown's Hitsville Hollywood. One of the many things that came with the purchase of the studio when Motown left was the Hitsville record library, which the studio manager let us look through when they needed more room. This is one of the treasures that I found.
