BLACK WIDOW II (CBS 64133) Same Black Sabbath RARE UK 1st Pressing A1/B1 MINT!
Here`s a medium RARE, very first UK pressing of Black Widow`s second album "Black Widow", released on CBS Records (1971).
An excellent early seventies hard rock album less in the vein of Black Sabbath (with whom Black widow were unjustly compared) than a distant cousin to "Look At Yourself"- era Uriah Heep. The musicianship is excellent throughout, with an emphasis on Hammond organ and saxophones, and the stylistic range is broad. Some might in fact claim the album to be too diverse, with songwriting and execution ranging from jazz-inflected passages to period hard rock. After the "satanic" debut album, Black Widow II`s diversity proved a bit too much for some fans. Highly collectable for the completist however - especially in this record`s near-perfect MINT state.
GRADING:
MINT- COVER with only minimal storage wear. Please see the photos for details.
- Original laminated UK gatefold sleeve, "Deepak. Printed and made by Quality Stationery Ltd."
- Lightest corner scuffing.
- Small scuffed area on rear sleeve (at bottom right). Please see relevant photo for details.
- Tiny ink stamp ("?") on rear sleeve (at top right). The stamp is on the laminate and very probably removable.
- No other visible signs of wear at all and difficult to come by like this nowadays.
- Also includes the original, custom-printed CBS Records inner sleeve in near-perfect MINT- condition.
MINT(-) RECORD with no signs of previous play whatsoever.
- Play-graded with peerless audio reproduction throughout.
- Absolutely untouched dark orange CBS labels, absolutely free of any spindle wear.
- The matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read "CBS S 64133 A1" and "CBS S 64133 B1", thereby denoting a UK first pressing.
- This record is fully certified to be a very first UK pressing of "Black Widow", issued in 1971.
