Description

Here's a rare artifact: the original vinyl test pressing of the Blackbyrds' City Life LP that was sent as an advance to LA's legendary KJLH radio back in late 1975. The disc was pressed on October 3, 1975—two months before the album's December release date—and is in solid VG+ condition with some faint sleeve marks and excellent playback throughout. It includes the original job sheet with some handwritten notes (including "KJLH advance copy"), taped to the issued inner sleeve. The album's lead track, "Rock Creek Park," was later sampled on tracks by De La Soul, Nas, MF Doom and everyone else and their mother.
