THE BLACKIE CHRISTMAS ORATORIO
THE BIRITH OF A BUILDING / SYMPHONY IS SEA LP
Private / Great Georges Community Cultural Project
w/accompanying book
Very obscure private release from Uk, featuring a collective into a weird conceptual / sound art work. Included in the Broken Music artists' recordings book.
Some info on the release: See Broken Music book. Extremely obscure, never seen on ebay sound document released privately by the british collective "Great Georges Community Cultural Project" back in 1980, including a book. “A Christmas Oratorio - The Birth of a Building” takes the sounds of The Blackie's (now The Black-E's) building site, and mixes them with recorded voices and song to celebrate the experience of creating a new building. File under conceptual & sound art in the vein of Joseph Beuys, Nam June Paik, Karel Appel, Audio Arts, Aspen Magazine, Christian Boltanski, Henri Chopin, Henning Christiansen, Marcel Duchamp, John Cage and similar. The accompanying book thanks for inspiration Robert Rauschenberg, Shelter Publications, Fiona Leiper, Stephanie Dodds, Duncan Curtis, Debbie Agatha and others.
Condition: Vinyl lies in excellent condition, crystal clear and shiny, barely played, has some dust which can easily be cleaned. Cover lies in very good+ condition showing signs of usage (see photo), mainly stain damage and bending.
