BLACKTHORN- Same- Original 1977 UK pressing on WHM. A mega rare British Folk album that has its weak points (like a truly awful cover of Neil Young’s “after the goldrush”) but has plenty of other strong moments, such as in Gerry Rafferty’s cover of Rick Rack and some nice traditional british and Irish interpretations. The band is closer to Steeleye Span and Clannad (first 2 albums) than it is to fairport Convention for example. Overall a solid VG+/VG++; The cover gets a VG+ grading because of some visible ringwear, light edge wear and one tiny name written on the white surface but not too disturbing. The vinyl has just tiny little scuffs on side 1 and 1 visible hairline on side 2 (not feelable) so downgraded to VG++ although it plays EX. As seen in Pokora 3001 page 11 with 3 stars;
