Full gloss on this Okeh pressing from the late 1930s. Blind Boy Fuller in his prime. You've Got Something There is absolutely classic. I played both sides on my Jensen player. It has a 78 needle setting. Sound was good but groove noise was very noticeable. It was same with the LP needle. But Using my old Audiotronic player it was a whole different story. (photo of it included) The groove noise practically disappeared and I still had plenty of volume. Either side of the needle provided excellent sound. How to account for the groove noise.... I suspect the record might have had a little play using an old steel needle and the lp needle magnified the issue. Record has virtually, if not actually, full gloss. No scratches but there are some what I will call marks. They are very light and of little or no importance. A small area at beginning of "Baby Quit.." side has light haze. I believe it is from that part of the record being exposed to the elements where the sleeve is cut-out. I did not try to clean; the record is in found condition. It does not effect sound. I got this record about 40 years ago. I am 86 but not old enough to have bought it new! Thanks for looking. Oh, if pressed to give it a grade, I am not good at it, but will call it Excellent +.
