A brilliant condition copy, with gleaming vinyl and stunning audio quality, of this increasingly rare & sought after 1969 UK 1st press rock classic on the POLYDOR record label, STEREO, 583059

The dead wax matrix numbers are :

Side 1  583059 A//1 420  with very early stampers of "1 1" and "1 2"

Side 2   583059 B//1 420  with very early stampers of "1 1" and "1 8"

The condition of the vinyl is excellent plus (EX+), though I am sure that many would grade as "near mint". Heavy, completely flat vinyl with glossy jet black sheen and coming across as completely unmarked in normal daylight...even with close inspection under a bright light it is only a couple of the faintest of faint paper scuff marks that come into view. The beautifully glossy vinyl, just a couple of small and extremely light spindle trails on either label, and stunning sound quality all combine to suggest that this record has been sparely played....probably just a few times. Hard to believe that this vinyl is 52 years of age!    

The condition of the Polydor labels is again excellent plus (EX+) - unmarked apart from just a couple of extremely faint, and small, spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label.

The condition of the MacNeill Press non-laminated outer gatefold sleeve is yet again excellent plus (EX+) - iconic (some would say controversial) and remaining in great condition. No edge scuffing and all edges, including the spine and opening edges, remaining firm with no fraying, no creasing, and all corners almost perfectly defined right angles still. There is a tiny nick and very, very slight corner fold on the bottom right hand corner, and the right hand side edges are slightly offset from each other but these are trivialities. The colours, artwork, photos, and text all remain rich and vibrant. Wonderful!

Comes with original poly-lined "PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS" inner sleeve with correct "British Patent No..." and "MADE IN ENGLAND" horizontal text and with  no splits, tears, edge fraying, staining, age discolouration, or obvious creasing and remaining fully functional (note that I always house the vinyl inside a brand new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve for shipping purposes in order to protect the original);    

The stereo sound quality is aging excellent plus (EX+) - stunning, in fact. No sticks, jumps, repeats, skips, clicks, interference or background crackle...even the dead wax run-in's and run-outs are silent. The tone and clarity is fantastic with no distortion at all, even at higher volume and higher frequencies. Terrific musicianship, stunning stereo audio reproduction - who could ask for more!

A true rock classic remaining in truly wonderful condition - an absolute "must have" for any serious rock vinyl collection.

On the subject of postage, I take great care in the packaging of all items, using a proper vinyl thick cardboard mailer, along with extra protective flange edges, with at least two thick cardboard stiffeners. I take great care in separating the record from the outer sleeve in order to help prevent sleeve damage in transit and I always insert the vinyl, outer sleeve and inner into a clear plastic sleeve, thus adding further protection.

Mint

The records itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items, such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent

The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and /or creasing.

Very Good

The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good

The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

Fair

The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents are torn, stained and/or defaced

Poor

The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents are badly damaged or partly missing.

Bad

The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler
