BLITZKRIEG BOP Let's Go/9 Till 5/Bugger Off Only 500 Copies Made Mortonsound MTN 3172/3
Blitzkrieg Bop were a Punk band formed in Middlesbrough. They named themselves after The Ramones first single and self recorded and self released this single on 14 July 1977. It was recorded at New Barn Studios in Norton and cost £275 to produce the run of 500 which were manufactured by G.L. Morton & Co of Newcastle and given the catalogue number Mortonsound MTN 3172/3.
The band consisted of: Bass - Mick Sick (Mick Hylton) Drums - Nicky Knoxx (Alan Cornforth) Guitar - Gloria (Ann Hodgson) Guitar - Telly Sett (Damian 'Dimmer' Blackwell) Vocals - Blank Frank (John Hodgson)
Blank Frank and Nicky Knoxx were both engineers on the single under their real names, and Nicky Knoxx produced it.
12/08/2017 I was contacted today by one of the band members to confirm that Nicky Knoxx did the writing on the sleeve so this is essentially an autographed item, increasing it's rarity.
