BLOPS – Blops (aka Locomotora). Alba/Acme Rrecords ALD 006. UK release. FACTORY SEALED NEW VINYL RECORD ALBUM. Originally issued in 1974. This edition issued in 2011. Remastered by Gary Ramon at Third Eye Studios. First official reissue of this early 1970s highly sought after killer Chilean psych/progressive rarity under license from Arci Records in Chile! Pressed on 180 gram vinyl. Limited edition of just 300 copies. MEMBERS:  Eduardo Gatti, Juan Pablo Orrego, Sergio Bezard, Juan Contreras, Juan Carlos Villegas. TRACKS:  Allegro Ma Non Troppo, Tartaleta de Frutillas, Locomotora, Piromano, and Sandokan. DESCRIPTION:  The monumental fiasco Los Blops experienced at the Vine Festival of 1972 gave rise to an abrupt reaction on behalf of the group. It was something like "if they do not want subtle songs, poetic and loving, then try this: ‘Locomotora.’ The group even momentarily changed their name to Paraffin. The acoustic guitars were still there, at least for the performances, but now with an openness for the electric and the progressive thing. Julio Villalobos had already left the group by this time, and he was replaced by the classical pianist Juan Carlos Villegas, who made a significant contribution on keyboards. With this, Los Blops, after an anarchical stage of pure improvisation, now experienced another shift in their music—in the 'Manchufelá de Peñalolén'(?), this time with a more aggressive, progressive, quite unclassifiable style which once again was absolutely pioneering for Chile. Under the name of Paraffin, they returned to the public in February of 1973, and performed at the mythical festival Los Caminos Que Se Abren (Ways Being Opened) along with Los Jaivas and the El Polen from Peru (recordings by both can usually be found in my listings), and other groups. The performance by Paraffin/Los Blops was total, overwhelming, and left a memory difficult to erase. Still, there was little interest in recording this new sound until Argentine Jose 'Pepe' Romeu invited Blops to appear at a concert in Buenos Aires after which the band was offered the opportunity to return to Buenos Aires to record an album in the RCA studios later in 1973; released on RCA in early 1974 in Argentina and soon after receiving its Chilean release; known as both by Blops and Locomotora. The group played only seven tracks at their appearance at the Los Caminos Que Se Abren festival, five of those were recorded for release on this album.

All LPs are removed from their jackets and placed outside of the jacket for shipping. If an album comes sealed (and will be noted as such in the above description), it will be shipped whole unless you request that I open it up to place the disc outside of the jacket for shipping. Both jacket and disc are placed inside of an outer plastic sleeve before packing for shipping. I use professional corrugated record mailers.

NEW LP:  This item is new and unplayed, but was received from a supplier without being shrink wrapped or cellophane wrapped; more common on imports but also many of the smaller independent US labels do not seal their LPs.

MIX:  This sometimes appears in my title line and refers to a group's/artist's music having a mix of styles such a rock track with jazz then followed by a straight rock track followed by a psych rock track, etc., as opposed to a blues album with the album's tracks having predominantly one style.

RETURN POLICY:

Any item that must be returned is done so at the buyer’s expense. Any refund, exchange, or substitution/credit will be at the buyer’s choice, but not made until the original item is received back by me; in the condition as stated in the item description. 

NON-ARRIVAL OF PACKAGES:

US Customers:  Please wait at least two weeks from my confirmed shipping date before contacting me about the non-arrival of your package. All packages are shipped with confirmation/tracking, you will received an automatically generated shipping notice from Ebay e-mail with your tracking number. It has been several years since I’ve had a package not make its US destination, so risk is minimal.

INTERNATIONAL Customers:  Please wait at least 3 weeks from my confirmed shipping date before contacting me about the non-arrival of your package. If security is your concern please have your package registered (see above for fee). I do my best to quickly post packages, but once the package is in the hands of the world’s postal system it is beyond my control. With First-Class Package International Service my only option for investigating the loss of your package is to verify that it left this country to its destination country. Most all delayed/lost packages have disappeared/been delayed after they have reached their destination country. NOTE:  Based on recent buyer feedback, International packages have been moving much slower these days; it is not unusual for a package to take over three weeks for delivery, though normally packages should arrive in 7 to 15 business days.
