BLOSSOM TOES - IF ONLY FOR A MOMENT
An overall nice condition copy of this UK 1st press psych rarity with the impressive stereo audio quality being the highlight
Year/Label : 1969 UK MARMALADE Label number : 608 010 Matrix numbers : 608010 A//3, 608010 B//2 Stampers : 11 1 / 11 2Very good plus (VG+) condition vinyl - flat, weighty and with a nice black sheen on each side but with a number of hairlines, scuff lines, and light scuff marks on each side also , a little more prevalent and noticeable on side 1 but all non-feelable though there is about a minute of very light background clicking on each of A2, A3 and A4 and some very light background crackle at the beginning of B2 so there is some limited impact upon the sound quality, though I stress that the overall audio quality is very impressive (see below). To be precise, the condition of side 1 is very good and side 2 is very good plus. Excellent condition labels with a few small and extremely faint spindle trails on each - otherwise perfect with the iconic "marmalade" logo and all text remaining pristine. Fully laminated very good plus (VG+) condition original MacNeill Press outer sleeve with all edges firm and unscuffed including perfect spine text. The vibrant colours, iconic art work, and photos remain nicely intact and each corner is a nicely defined right angle with minimal rubbing, There is just a smidgeon of fraying on the top-side opening edge, some minor laminate lifting adjacent to the spine on both sides, and the occasional light surface laminate crease including a number of 1-2 cm laminate creases adjacent and perpendicular to the edges on both sides. The most noticeable laminate creases are on the front side towards the top left corner (see photos). There is also just the hint of some very mild brown age discolouration next to the edges, slightly more noticeable on the reverse side. So not perfect by any means but no scuffs, no tears, no unwanted writing and remaining very presentable and fully functional. Very good plus (VG+) stereo audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, or distortion and background crackle is virtually non-existent (just some very, very light background crackle towards the beginning of B2). As already mentioned there is some very mild and limited clicking during each of A2, A3 and A4 but in each case the clicking is very background and does not spoil the overall listening experience of this great LP, with the vocals and instrumentation remaining crystal clear. A terrific LP! Comes with poly-lined "PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS" inner sleeve with a 5cm split in the middle of the right vertical edge, some mild creasing, and a little very mild age discolouration but remaining fully functional. I will ship the record in a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original. An overall nice condition copy of this UK 1st press psych - a serious addition to any rock record collection!
