Description
Original 1966 D.J. pressing of the ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK ALBUM, BLOW UP (MGM E-44447-ST)
Music composed, conducted and played by HERBIE HANCOCK with THE YARDBIRDS
"SPECIAL DISC JOCKEY RECORD" / "NOT FOR SALE"
What makes this package interesting and one-of-a-kind is that it includes a typed letter from MGM producer Pete Spargo. Dated April 21, 1967 the letter is written to a disc jockey (Mr. Paul Anthony WRC-AM/FM / Washington, D.C.). The letter explains why the session musicians are not listed on the album. (They weren't under contract to MGM). It also lists the musicians; ten of the finest jazz players of the era- see photo.
I purchased this album used, from a dealer, about forty years ago and found the letter in the sleeve. The dealer was not aware of it.
Condition: the sleeve grades EX, with normal age wear, no writing or split seams. The record grades NM. The letter is in excellent condition. Original inner sleeve included; the record ships in an anti-static, dust free archival sleeve.
Check out my feedback score; you won't be disappointed.
