This special edition reissue is presented for the first time in a gatefold jacket, and features a stunning, previously unreleased image of Blu & Exile taken from the album’s original photo shoot.
The world received a true hip-hop classic with 2007’s release of, Below The Heavens. And with Blu & Exile’s recent acquisition of the album’s master rights, the duo is pleased to join forces with Coalmine Records for a special, deluxe edition reissue!
Throughout the album’s 15 tracks, you can hear Blu & Exiles shared intent, which was to create something that was distinctly their own. They were young, hungry artists with gifts they wanted the world to hear, not only to showcase their abilities but to also reveal another side of West Coast rap. The early to mid-aughts was a dichotomous time for L.A. hip-hop especially. The underground was brimming with creative releases from acts like Freestyle Fellowship and Living Legends, but to the rest of the world, gangster rap remained the city’s calling card. Before there was even a Blu & Exile, the producer kept hearing about this up-and-coming rapper named Blu who was performing at venues throughout the city. And it was one of Exile’s other collaborators, Aloe Blacc (who formed Emanon with Exile), who helped bring the duo together. The two immediately hit it off, and embarked on a recording spree where the blueprint for Below The Heavens began to take shape.
The duo laid down more than 50 tracks steeped in lived truths and tack-sharp writing from Blu as well as Exile’s jaw-dropping sample flips and drums. Through painstaking decisions and track sequencing, the end result was a modern classic in the style of Blu’s biggest influences—Nas, Common, Planet Asia, and DMX.
Below The Heavens beautifully captures a special place and time for the then fledgling duo, while remaining a timeless piece of art. It’s shivers-inducing nostalgic, but also modern in its sentiments and voice. It’s a classic.

In the unlikely event that you receive a product that is either defective or faulty, please contact us immediately with a description of the problem. We offer a 30 Day Exchange for all defective/faulty products.
Most of the DVDs sold in our store are either REGION 1 or 2 format. This means that they are imported from the U.S. & U.K., and can only be played on DVD players that are either R1/R2 or Region Free. In general Australian DVD players are locked to Region 4, however more and more new DVD players sold these days are Multi Region compatible. We strongly recommend that you check your DVD player's Region code before purchasing as we are unable to refund purchases for incompatibility. Your DVD instructions manual should include the Region information for your DVD player. Alternatively if you email us your DVD player make & model, we will endeavour to find out for you.
Payment
Payment is required within 7 days of purchase. If for any reason you are unable to pay within 7 days, please contact us prior to bidding/buying. We are flexible with our payment terms for people who contact us first. We accept the following payment methods: PAYPAL, BANK DEPOSIT, MONEY ORDER & CASH ON PICKUP.
Orders can also be picked up from our office in Dandenong, VIC. If there is a particular order you would prefer to pick up, please call us before you BUY IT NOW to ensure the product is in stock.

Shipping
All items are shipped through Australia Post. For domestic deliveries within Australia we offer Regular, eParcel & Express eParcel services. We strongly recommend you select the eParcel or Express eParcel service as they can be tracked online through the Australia Post tracking website.
International deliveries are sent through Australia Post Regular Airmail. This service does not include a tracking number. For security and peace of mind, we strongly recommend that our international customers register their orders. For a fee of $8.50, the package is insured and also trackable. We also offer EMS Express Courier for international deliveries.
We offer combined shipping on multiple orders. If you purchase several items from our store, please request a combined invoice prior to making payment.
Goods being shipped to the following countries must be registered: India, Italy, Brazil, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Columbia, Afghanistan, Russian Federation, Turkey, Iraq, Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, Oman & Qatar.
