The second of two singles they had. They were originally the Outcasts in Melbourne but recorded this

as the Blue Beats in 1965. The (a) side is a strong garage/beat cover of Curtis Lee original but

it’s the (b) side that will probably please more. It’s a snotty vocal/savage garagy punky version

of Piano Red’s Dr Feelgood. Condition wise- both sides have quite a lot of scuffing, feathering, hairlines etc

The (a) side is visually around VG and plays around EX (ie little background sound, no skips or repeats)

The (b) side has more scuffing and a serious mark. Maybe it’s G+ or so to look at. When played on my equipment even with a light

arm weight (0.5) there are no skips or jumps and while it’s playing there’s little background sound

(because it’s such a ball tearer I suppose) After it’s finished you can hear that there was more

than you thought when you hear the sound in the deadwax. Is it a filler or keeper?

If you decide filler you’ll be waiting a long time to replace it. I think it’s keeper because both sides play

pretty well and it’s such a great (and rare) single. Labels are EX+. In a company jacket

CONDITION WISE:

MINT: Brand new condition, no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Cover, label, extras in perfect condition.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 EXCELLENT: Slight signs of having been played, no lessening of sound quality. Cover, label, extras are good.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       VERY GOOD: Played quite a few times, no real deterioration in sound quality. Cover, label, extras slight amount of wear and tear.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              GOOD: Showing some wear and tear. Reasonable, playable sound. No major defects in record, cover, label, extras.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               FAIR: Sound quality deteriorated. Cover, label, extras display folding, scuffing, marks
