- BLUE EFFECT " SNAKES/ SEN NEVI VECNY/SUN IS SO BRIGHT /BLUE TAXI " PANTON 03 0203 ,CZECHOSLOVAKIA from 1969 .......My fave 60s EP from there ...I was searching this one for years because of the inclusion of " Sun is so bright " that i had heared years ago on the compilation PSYCHEDELIA . Fantastic freakbeat tune that gets mixed with crazy psych effects , killer groove , killer distorted fuzz-echoed delayed guitar solo and swirling trippy sound that blows your mind out of your head . I dont think that many other countries at the time produced such classic psych-freakbeat masterpiece .... My big surprise though was when i got this ep at my hands , i found out that all tunes were at my taste , all great ones and none resembling to the other . " Snakes " is the second best for me " starts with a trippy laid back eastern intro , then wah-wah guitar riff enters and then has another two basic changes in melody jumping from one stone to the other with a great clarity and simplicity , once you think you hear west-coast psych bands ( deep swirling hammond and percussion added suddenly !!), then TOP UK freakbeat but finally the result is so unique .These guys were genious , very personal and sophisticated sound ... " Blue taxi " is also a ruff freakbeat tune with fuzz and wah-wah distinguish guitar riffs .They have one tune in their language as well , again here they show how complex sound they had , only the PRETTY THINGS could fit three different psych tunes in just one track ( defecting grey ) in just a couple of minutes !! It starts with percussion as an afro tribal percussion track sung in czech language . 1st change in track : orchestrated psych pop passage . 2nd change on track : spoken dark spooky voice in DIES IRAE style backed with loud fuzz soloing and then again ends in the afro style popsike .... Just crazy , Just brilliant !!!!! If there was written on " made in UK " this ep according to its quality and fantastic psych-freakbeat tunes should sell for 300pounds atleast ....... Gatefold cover is EX- / record is VG++ ( paper marks only ,some minimal surface , music great ,loud and vivid , plays like EX ) ..... Rare and classic , strongly recomended ...............
