Description
HAWKWIND "Hawkwind" 1970 - 1st pressing of the debout LP LBS 83348 of the spacier and tripper band ever!
This comes in the very very rare BLUE Liberty label (the "common" copies are in black).
A little history about this... the blue labels were the Liberty labels of the year 1970 just until the coworking with Philips dropped so to work together with EMI (and switching to black color). This happened in September of 1970, just during the pressing of the first LP of Hawkwind, so, some record were produced in blue labels (the very few of the initial bulk). This made these first pressings very rare an sought after among collectors, and it is also shown in the matrices of each side (A\\1 1 1 2, and on side B it is B\\1 1 1 2) which are totally different from the black label matrices (i.e. the "repress" of the first pressing). Black labels have the A 2U and B 3U on side A and B respectively.
This record has the correct matrices (A\\1 1 1 2 on side A, and B\\1 1 1 2 on side B), clean blue labels with no writing or any defect on them, and the vinyl is graded around EX with some thin hairs taht do not affect play. The E.J. Day gatefold cover is in very very good condition with just the reasonable wear around the edges and spine (it is impossible to have a mint cover of this kind as the cardboard used was very very thin).
A rare opportunity not to be missed, as these are not often around these days... it's an investment. Disc to be packed safely in a LP box for security. It is sent from Greece (where i live) and the fees are for registered airmail for security against loss or damage for both of us... PLEASE contact for pics and questions and keep in mind that this can fly early...
