ITEM:     BLUE MITCHELL -  " Brasses and Strings - FORTISSIMO "

READ FIRST:  According to Riverside records......This is a record of the future.  A few simple instructions must be followed.

1.  This record is played from the inside out.  Therefore it will necessary, if you have a changer type turntable, to put your machine in manual position, and manually place the tone arm on the innermost groove.

2.  There is a 400 cycle tone of one-minute duration in the first band.  This is the most suitable tone for balancing your speakers before playing the record. 

3.  This record is made of a new super hard material.  Best results will be obtainted by the use of a diamond stylus, since the record surface will tend to produce wear on any softer stylus.

.............I did do a play test of this LP.  I used a back cueing stanton 681 cart and it did play from the inside out..........I am not aware of any other audiofile LP's that play from the inside out..........

Condition Cover =  VG++  LAMINATED FOLD OPEN COVER  no writing.  seam split top side 6".  some age/ring wear & damage to side seam.

1950's-1960's STUDIO MATERIAL.  ARTISTS: Blue Mitchell with Brasses and Strings.

TUNES:   Smooth as the wind, But beautiful, The best things in life are free, Peace, for heaven's sake, The nearness of you, A blue time, Strolllin', For all we know. I'm a fool to want you.

Grading Scale:

MINT= A genuinely perfect record in both vinyl and cover
M=A nearly perfect record. Will have only one or two visual flaw on vinyl and/or cover
NM=Vinyl has no audible scratches but may have visual flaws. Cover will have only slight ring or edge wear.
VG++ = Vinyl will be in Near Mint Condition. Cover will have ring and/or edge wear.
VG+ = One or two light audible scratches only. Cover will have ring and/or edge wear. Possible writing on Cover and/or label.
VG = Several audible scratches, but not throughout vinyl. Cover will have wear, but no splits or tears. Possible writing on jacket and/or label.
Good = Scratches on vinyl that will effect play, but no skips or repeats. Cover may have significant wear, split, tear or tape.
