BLUE MITCHELL “Bring It Home To Me” Blue Note 4228, Van Gelder, New York vinyl LP
This is the 1966, “Van Gelder”-stamped, first pressing of BLUE MITCHELL’s “Bring It Home To Me” on the New York USA labels of BLP 4228. “Van Gelder” stamp in deadwax. Musicians include Blue Mitchell, Junior Cook, Harold Mabern, Gene Taylor, Billy Higgins.
VINYL is in excellent shape, high gloss. Only a few, occasional pops or ticks. No warps. No feelable scratches. Plays very cleanly. A couple tracks (Side 1, #1, #3) have brief repeating ticks. As with all first pressing Blue Notes, the music is powerful, dynamic and full of tone. This record is VERY dynamic. The New York USA labels are clean.
Front COVER is in largely excellent condition. Front top right 3” tape. Spine, lower seam, worn. Beginning of split on seam. Corners worn. See photos. The “43 West 61st New York 10023” back jacket is very clean with blue promo stamp. See photos.
This LP was play-tested on a high-end system consisting of Music Hall MMF-7.3 turntable/Ortofon Bronze cartridge, Heed Audio Elixir integrated amplifier, Heed Quasar Phono stage and Quad S2 speakers.
