TITLE: OUT TO LUNCH
RECORD LABEL: BLUE NOTE BLP 4163. New York USA label; "VAN GELDER" stamp and "ear" squiggle in dead wax both sides. Made in USA; 1964. Mono Vinyl. Includes original paper sleeve, pictured.
DESCRIPTION:
AMG: Out to Lunch stands as Eric Dolphy's magnum opus, an absolute pinnacle of avant-garde jazz in any form or era. Its rhythmic complexity was perhaps unrivaled since Dave Brubeck's Time Out, and its five Dolphy originals -- the jarring Monk tribute "Hat and Beard," the aptly titled "Something Sweet, Something Tender," the weirdly jaunty flute showcase "Gazzelloni," the militaristic title track, the drunken lurch of "Straight Up and Down" -- were a perfect balance of structured frameworks, carefully calibrated timbres, and generous individual freedom.
CONDITION:
VINYL (play- & visually graded): VG+(+), light surface marks, spindle marks. Barest rare surface noise. SOUNDS FANTASTIC!
COVER: VG+, some cw, bend at top left, light edge wear.

THE RECORD HAS BEEN CLEANED with a NITTY GRITTY record cleaning machine.
It is in a new, non-static, high-density plastic inner sleeve; the cover is protected with a clear plastic outer sleeve.
PROFESSIONAL PACKAGING: Record is removed from cover, inserted into the custom-made plastic outer sleeve along with the cover, then nestled in a protective two-layer bed of bubble wrap. Then it goes into a secure, crush-resistant new box. No split seams or mashed corners. (In the case of sealed records, we will not open them unless asked.)
