Description

Side A, FETCH YOUR WATER.  Visual VG+ to VG.  Playback VG+.

Side B, SOON THIS MORNING BLUES.  Visual VG+ to VG.  Playback VG+, maybe a little less, most Paramounts do not play really well to begin with.

Fairly nice, clean copy of these increasingly hard to find blues 78's.  No chips, no cracks, surface only has some light scratches, if it had more sheen I would have graded higher.

This is my grading system for 78's to match up with EBay's grading scale.  I grade records as honest as possible.  I often hear the term "pre war grading scale" and I lean to this just a little because these records are becoming increasingly difficult to find.  Feedback from my long time customers speaks for itself.   If I grade a record VG+, do not expect it to be an E copy, but be assured if I do grade a record Excellent, Excellent plus or Near Mint, you are getting a pristine record.  You have to take into consideration that some of these records were recorded in a studio, many were not.  Some are electrically recorded, some are not.  A lot of these records did not have good sound quality when produced.  There are variables to keep in mind when grading.  I may use +/- for a disc that falls between grades.  I inspect my discs closely.  If there are any surface lams, cracks, rim chips, rim flakes, needle drops, skips or warps I will mention them in the description.

M= Almost impossible to find 78.  New and unplayed in the original sleeve.  I only use this grade if I know for sure it is new old store stock.

NM=  A very rare 78.  Looks and plays like new.  No scratches, scuffs, or manufacturer defects.  Labels are perfect.

EX=  A highly collectible 78.  This is a disc that was played a limited amount of times and was handled, cared for and stored properly.  Will retain all of its luster, will have only a few light scratches or scuffs per side and show very, very  little to no groove wear.  Labels are perfect or nearly perfect with only the slightest of defects.  Playback may have a few light ticks or pops.  Surface noise will be very light.

VG+= A nice, collectible, above average condition 78.  It will retain most of its original luster but may have patches where the shine has dulled somewhat.  It will have more than a few light scratches of scuffs per side.  Disc may have some light groove wear but no stripped grooves.  Labels may show some wear but still look nice.  Playback will have some ticks, pops and light to moderate surface noise but nothing uncomfortable with the music being much stronger than the "noise" and plays distortion free.

VG=  An average condition 78.  Somewhat dull finish but will still have some shine left. May have moderate even wear throughout.  Will have numerous light scratches or scuffs per side, if there are any deep scratches I will note it on the description. Labels will show wear but are readable.  Playback will have ticks, pops, and surface noise that is becoming uncomfortable but does not overpower the music.  May have a worn groove that distorts somewhat here and there, but overall is still a copy that is acceptable to listen too.

G+=  Pretty much a VG copy but all of the shine is gone and may have a little more wear than a VG copy.

G= Poor condition 78.  Seriously worn and scratched.  Labels may or may not be readable.  Playback is plagued by noise and is uncomfortable to listen too.  Mainly used as a filler for a hard to find disc.

SHIPPING= I will ship anywhere in the world.  Please be aware that most countries do not allow insurance on First Class packages, I will not be held responsible for an item that I cannot insure.  Also, keep in mind that there is a maximum 4# weight limit on First Class in the shipment of multiple discs. If you are inside the US, I use media mail.  If you prefer Priority please let me know.  ***If you are outside of the US and your calculated shipping seems high please request an invoice.  Most of the time the actual shipping rate is a few dollars cheaper than what is quoted.    The $3.00 shipping and handling covers my expense for new boxes, filler pads and supplies.  I gladly combine shipping. ***

PACKAGING= I use a 13 x 13 x 4" 200 lb. rated box.  I place the disc in a generic paper sleeve,  outside of the original sleeve when applicable.  I sandwich the disc between six cardboard filler pads.  I place shipping peanuts or craft paper under, on top of, and around the sides of the cardboard sandwich to fill the space and absorb shock.
