UK mono original classic

the record plays virtually mint throughout - visually excellent - a testament to the fine quality of these original British Decca pressings - mostly complete silence in the grooves between tracks - loud and massively upfront raw mono sound with stunning immediacy gives this record fantastic presence - listen from another room with the volume cranked up loud and you could almost be convinced The Bluesbreakers are giving it plenty of ‘welly’ right there in your own house - arguably the best album Mayall ever made and of course it is largely the presence of newcomer Peter Green, and the searing guitar work he was producing way back then, that elevates this LP to such a highly atmospheric and emotional level - as I have already explained, the record plays faultlessly - virtually as-new and mint - yet under close inspection it is near excellent with some light surface scuffs and hairlines - these in no way impair the power and brilliance of this seminal British blues masterpiece - the surfaces still display dazzling high gloss and care has been obviously taken while playing, as is apparent from the almost total absence of spindle wear to both sides - neat old ‘ear’ design ‘full frequency range recording’ (ffrr) logos - one or two tiny tears with some slight and inoffensive sticker residue to both ‘A’ and ‘B’ labels (see photos) although this may be easily removed with a little care, patience and the sensible application of an effective and appropriately gentle cleaning fluid - the cover is near mint except for some minor leading edge damage to the lower right front and a small bump to the top left corner - the lamination is still super glossy and the matt rear sleeve beautifully clean (which is unusual) and creamy white - completely free from any marking or damage - the spine is perfect - original poly-lined inner paper sleeve - a really desirable original UK mono 1st pressing - I buy, sell and trade records and vintage collectables full-time by mail order, specialising in UK original progressive, psych, folk and blues LPs - note: I will no longer be listing my best and rarest stock here so if you need mint LPs & 45s on Island, Vertigo, Harvest or other great British labels, contact me
