Description
This is the Bo Diddley LP titled “Have Guitar Will Travel – Wire Bo Diddley” on the Checker Records label catalog number 2974, in mono, released in 1960. This is a 1st pressing of the album. It has the rare maroon colored label which appeared for a very short time.
All records that I have for sale are from my personal collection and were purchased new and played exclusively on a high end turntable. They are play tested prior to listing to guarantee an accurate description.
This 56 year old record was pressed on extra thick vinyl. It is in excellent condition with a few minor marks on the surface which are not audible and cannot be felt. The record sounds great with only typical stylus on vinyl sounds and occasional light clicking. Record labels are in excellent condition.
The outer jacket is in overall excellent condition. There is a small bleached out area on the back which is the result of the record having been in a clear plastic frame hanging on my music room wall against a capped electrical outlet for a number of years. The top left corner has two small staple holes where the record store had attached a price tag (a common practice of the period). There is very minor corner wear at the opening. All seams are solid (See pictures). The plain paper inner sleeve is in excellent condition.
I will pack the record outside of the jacket to protect jacket integrity and ship in a sturdy LP mailer with cardboard inserts and bubble wrap for further protection.
