SBPG 62429, original first issue 1964 UK Orange stereo CBS record labels.

A first issue 1964 UK stereo copy in original condition, featuring:

1. a hard to find original 1964 UK stereo copy, as most copies of this album issued in 1964 were in mono,

2. printed on the spine, the text reads, ‘BPG 62429’ (mono !), but printed on the rear of the sleeve, it reads, ‘SBPG 62429’ for stereo !,

3. side two of the record label feature a ‘Philips’ printed record label, but on side two it is a regular ‘CBS’ record label !,

4. the ‘Philips’ record label on side two feature the text, ‘SBPG 62429 1Y’, but engraved onto the record on side two is the matrix, ‘SBPG 62429 A2’,

5. original 1964 UK CBS stereo, Orange ‘textured’ and ‘ridged’ record labels,

6. each record label features the earliest text of, ‘33’, later record labels read, ‘33 1/3’,

7. a first issue 1964 UK stereo sleeve made by the ‘un credited’ company of, ‘E J Day’,

8. the first issue 1964 UK stereo sleeve is made of the period, quality ‘thick / heavy’ card,

9. comes with its original period, ‘CBS’ plain white inner sleeve.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good+ condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. The spine is in excellent condition and has remained clean, white and straight and all of the text on the spine is clear to read. The rear of the sleeve features the original UK, tri ‘flip back’ design, ie ‘fold over’ edges. There are NO tears, splits, stickers, sticker residue to the sleeve. There is a slight ‘water’ mark to the front, right lower corner / rear, left lower corner.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good+ condition and is the original period ‘CBS’ plain white inner sleeve. Theres NO pen writing, tears, stickers or sticker residue to the inner sleeve. There is a split to one of the side edges.

THE RECORD: side one is in very good condition. Side two has some ‘scuffing’ to tracks two, three and part onto track four, so I will grade this area as good+, the rest of side two is in very good condition. The record is made from the period, 1960s thick, heavy vinyl.

The records matrix is: side one - 62429 A2, there are no additional numbers / letters engraved onto the ‘run off’ groove. Side two - 62429 B1, also the numbers / letters of, ‘9 A1’, I think it is, are engraved onto the ‘run off’ groove,

THE AUDIO: side one, track three plays ‘good’ as it plays with ‘ticks’ and ‘crackle’. Track four plays ‘good’ as it plays with some ‘ticks’ for approximately 30 seconds on the introduction, the rest of track four plays very good, the rest of side one plays very good. Side two plays very good with some ‘ticks’ and ‘crackle’. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE RECORD LABELS: each record label is in excellent condition. Each record label is free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

TO GRADE THE CONDITION OF THE RECORD I AM USING THE OFFICIAL GRADING SYSTEM FROM THE ‘RECORD COLLECTOR’ MAGAZINE.

THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
