A beautiful original vinyl edition of one of the landmark Bob Dylan archival releases — Bob Dylan's Biograph, issued by Columbia in 1985.

This is the original U.S. 5-record deluxe edition, catalog number C5X 38830, presented in the large LP-sized box with the original illustrated song-note sleeves and large-format booklet.

COMPLETE 5-LP SET

All five original Columbia LPs are present, providing 10 sides of music covering Dylan's career from 1961 through 1981.

Also included are the original large-format illustrated booklet and five individual printed inner sleeves, featuring extensive song-by-song notes, recording information, photographs, artwork and commentary.

The photographs show the actual set being offered.

ABOUT BIOGRAPH

Released in 1985, Biograph was far more ambitious than a conventional greatest-hits collection.

Across five LPs, Columbia combined major Dylan recordings with singles, alternate versions, live performances, B-sides, rarities and recordings that were previously unreleased when the collection appeared.

Among the selections are:

• The Times They Are A-Changin'
• Blowin' in the Wind
• Masters of War
• Lay Lady Lay
• Forever Young
• Like a Rolling Stone
• Tombstone Blues
• Mr. Tambourine Man
• Quinn the Eskimo
• I Want You
• Visions of Johanna
• Every Grain of Sand
• Tangled Up in Blue
• Caribbean Wind
• Up to Me
• Romance in Durango
• Señor (Tales of Yankee Power)
• Gotta Serve Somebody
• Positively 4th Street
• Isis
• Knockin' on Heaven's Door

…and many more.

The collection contains 53 tracks in all, with material spanning approximately two decades of Dylan's recording career.

CONDITION

The five records are all present and appear to have been well cared for overall.

The vinyl retains a nice glossy appearance. Under strong direct lighting, some light surface marks/hairlines and normal signs of handling can be seen. I have photographed the actual records under bright light rather than attempting to hide normal imperfections.

Based on visual inspection, I would conservatively describe the vinyl as like new to excellent.

The original printed inner sleeves/song-note sleeves are present and show normal age and handling consistent with a vintage 1985 set.

The large-format booklet is also present and contains extensive Dylan photography, artwork, recording information and detailed notes on the individual songs.

OUTER BOX CONDITION

The original oversized presentation box is structurally intact and presents nicely for its age, but it does show visible shelf/storage wear, including rubbing, scuffing, edge/corner wear and age-related marks.

The rear of the box also shows visible storage/age discoloration and spotting.

These cosmetic imperfections have been deliberately photographed so the buyer can judge the condition accurately.

Please examine ALL photographs carefully, as they show the actual set you will receive and form an important part of the condition description.
