Here it is, ladies and gentlemen: The emperor of all singer-songwriters albums, Bob Dylan's very finest hour and one of two or three most important, creative, subversive, ingenuous, inspired and mind-intriguing albums ever - EVER - recorded. Just listening to the cascading rhymes of Bob Dylan's surreal poetry over jazzy, bluesy, folksy and rocking instrumental backing (provided courtesy of Al Kooper, The Band and some of the finest studio musicians of the day) makes our heart skip a few beats. Track listing? Do you really need one? And, oh…one more thing…this is the brutally rare WHITE LABEL PROMO pressing – AND MONO, to boot --  THE ONLY legitimate way to listen to this classic album. Compared to mono, stereo mix sounds like a disgrace. Mixes are considerably more different, much more raw, direct and vital  than on the common, stereo release. Miss it and you might have to spend another few years searching for another copy.

(IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!; we  grade records under the strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight)

(a)          CAUTION! The vinyl is only GOOD TO GOOD+, with multiple, numerous,  scuffs which are BOTH visible AND audible. The record plays with bearable BUT AUDIBLE surface noise and some pops and clicks. The record plays without skipping throughout. This record WAS play-graded.

(b)          This album is presented here mostly for its historical value and as a very rare item, which can be exceedingly difficult to find in any other condition

(c)           The records are apparently pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(d)          Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

(e)           White Promo Label version of this title is much rarer that a regular, commercially released, version of this title. We estimate that stock copies of this album outnumber promo copies by a ratio of at least 500:1.

(f)            In addition, Mono pressing of this title is much rarer, and by far more  preferable to its stereo counterpart. We think that the mix is more natural, humane, "organic" and that the mixes are somewhat different than on the stereo version. We estimate that stereo copies of this album outnumber mono pressings by a ratio of at least 10:1.

·       COVER

THE COVER IS ONLY ABOUT GOOD (G)

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-        Front panel has two visible and a lot of smaller, tiny peel-off marks, covering the total area of about 4 square inches

-        Cover has some visible fraying/tattering on all three seams

-        Cover has a partially split spine (between 1 and 2 inches  / 2.5 to 5 centimeters)

-        A visible, reddish water stain affects the area about 3 square inches in one corner; there is no damage to       the cover, and both cardboard base and paper slick are intact, however, the stain is visible and has caused some erosion in the firmness of the cover, visible reddish discoloration, a few minor peel-off marks and a slight warp in the affected area (faintly visible on the inside gatefold as well)

-        Cover has considerable ring wear; On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and  10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 8. Inside gatefold has some light ring wear also

-        Cover shows some yellowing on both sides, apparently from aging. Yellowing is also noted on the INSIDE gatefold

-        Cover has two corners slightly worn / frayed / bent.

-        Cover has  visible "wrinkles"(creases)  in two of the corners.

-        Cover has visible wrinkles (creases) in the cardboard base on the front panel

-        The cover has a few tiny scratch marks across both panels

NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE COVER:

-        No cut-out (drill) holes.

-        No cut-out corners

-        No saw-marks or indents

-        No writing

-        No stamps

-        No stickers or labels

-        No warping

-        No wax, glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover

-        No bar codes

-        No RIAA stamps or stickers.
