USA STEREO FIRST PRESSING/FIRST MIX DOUBLE VINYL LP IN FIRST ISSUE GATEFOLD SLEEVE WITH THE TWO GIRL PHOTOS ON RIGHT SIDE [WHICH WERE LATER REPLACED WITH MORE BOB], PLUS ORIGINAL WHITE INNER SLEEVES.

Specific to the first pressing sleeves is: 7-photo design and "Memphis Blues Again". Some copies have 'Nonbreakable' on the labels, some do not, This copy has no 'Nonbreakable' on the labels. The labels have the typo "Stuck Inside Of Mobile With The" plus "Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat" in lower case.

Why buy a first or early pressing and not a re-issue or a ‘re-mastered’ vinyl album?

First pressings are made from first generation lacquers and stampers. They usually sound vastly superior to later issues and re-issues (which are often pressed from whatever tapes or digital sources are currently available).

Many recent vinyl pressings claim to be mastered from ‘original tapes’ and are pressed on expensive 180g vinyl. Sonically, they frequently sound disappointing when compared to a decent condition first pressing. All too often, they sound like a CD pressed onto vinyl.

If you want the best analogue reproduction possible from vinyl, it is always a better investment to seek out original pressings in clean playing condition. They nearly always have more immediacy, presence and dynamics. The sound staging is wider, and subtle nuances are better placed with more spacious textures. Balances are firmer in the bottom end with the bass far tighter. Upper-mids shine, and the overall depth is more immersive. Inner details are clearer, and the music tends to sound more ‘alive’.

SLEEVE: VERY GOOD WITH PEN MARK ON FRONT, SPINE NICKS, SHELF, CORNER, RING AND EDGE WEAR. THICK CARD WITH NO OTHER DEFECTS. INNER SLEEVES HAVE SOME CREASES.

DISCS: VISUALLY VERY GOOD+ THAT PLAY MOSTLY EXCELLENT MINUS. NO SCRATCHES BUT THERE IS SOME SPINDLE WEAR, LIGHT HAIRLINES, PLAY SCUFFS AND CLEAR SIGNS OF PREVIOUS PLAY. CLEAN LABELS. A VERY DECENT FIRST PRESSING, NOT PERECT BUT MUCH BETTER THAN MOST WE SEE THESE DAYS.
