With both 1st press label variants:

Side 1 and Side 2 have 331/3 

Side 3 and Side 4 have 33 

Side 1 and 2 have 'Bob Dylan' above 'Blonde on Blonde' 

Side 3 and 4 have it the other way around.

COVER GRADING (Outer): EX-

Overall, a great, clean copy. Some nice sheen to the laminate. No rips or writing. 

The spine is particularly straight and completely legible. It has some small  scuffs to the bottom corner. 

At some point, someone put sellotape around the edges, which has been removed and left some residue which will clean off. The edges are very nice and straight as a result of the tape, I imagine. 

COVER GRADING (Inner): EX- 

Very clean. The flipbacks are in great condition. The sellotape has left yellowing lines, which doesn't bother me but might bother you, so take a look at the photos before deciding to bid. 

LABELS:

Side 1 - VG+

Some spindle tracks if tilted the right way in day light, but otherwise clean and bright.

Side 2 - VG+

Again, a few marks of play and a few creases. 

Side 3 - VG++

A few spindle tracks but otherwise lovely. 

Side 4 - VG+

Same as above but a few more marks from being played.

VINYL (Visual):

All sides look VG+ except Side 3 which looks VG.

Plenty of hairline and surface sleeve scratches.

Some finger marks and light scuffs.

Side 3 has more wear than the rest...which is typical in my experience. 

 VINYL PLAY GRADING:

Side 1

Lots of crackles at start and throughout. Several pops. 

However, it really does sound great. So full, rich and warm. 

Side 2 

Again, some crackles but no skips or jumps - even on a 'delicate balance setting'. 

Side 3

Some distinct clicks throughout MOST LIKELY...

It crackles between the songs.

I can't get over how great it sounds - despite the crackles. 

There are a lot of pronounced crackles and clicks throughout 4TH TIME AROUND.

Side 4

Two clicks in the first verse. 

Crackles are present throughout. 

VERDICT

It needs a clean. I have another similar copy that I had professionally cleaned and it got rid of 90% of the surface noise and static.

Despite the crackles and few clicks, it just sounds amazing. 

The new, 180gram mono releases, although really good, cannot touch the sound of these first pressings - in my humble opinion.  I don't know exactly what it is, but the old copies are so warm and rich.

So, this grades as VG, but it's still a good player - that needs a clean.

I play test MOST records on a simple REGA RP1 with an old valve amp, using headphones to focus on the sound and any specific flaws.

Any pops or loud crackles will be mentioned, but static often causes this and can be dealt with cheaply.

Some records are noisier than others - due to the original source, for example. If an album is particularly noisy, I aim to point it out.

All records WILL have very fine, light surface scratches from their inner sleeves. They do not affect play and are not considered faults. 

I'm an honest bloke and have a decent reputation, and do my best to sort out any mistakes or problems quickly and fairly.

I use Record Collectors Grading System 

Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records marked as Sealed or Un-played should be Mint.

NEAR MINT (NM) They look like new, having only been played once or twice.

Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable
