Description
BOB DYLAN, Blonde on Blonde, stickered sleeve & crossover labels, early UK CBS stereo LP.
SDDP 66012, early ‘crossover’ UK CBS orange stereo record labels.
An early UK stereo issue in original condition, featuring:
1. on the front of the sleeve there is a hard to find original period ‘CBS retail promotional price sticker’, that reads, ‘Double Pack 2 - 12 inch LPs for 58’-, the original retail UK 'pre decimal' price,
2. unusual early printed, ‘smaller stereo logo’ sleeve,
3. early 'flip back' sleeve, ie visual 'fold over' edges, seen to the top and bottom edges when the 'gate fold' sleeve is opened,
4. the track title, ‘Stuck inside of mobile with the Memphis blues again’, has been mis printed. On the sleeve and on the record label this track appears as just, ‘Stuck inside of mobile with thee’, and the word ‘the’ has been mis printed as, ‘thee’,
5. unusual ‘crossover’ record labels, featuring:
a. on sides one, three and four, features the earliest text of a larger printed ‘33 1/3’, but on side two this text is printed 'smaller' and in a 'different font',
b. the record labels on sides one, two and four feature a ‘ridged’ and ‘textured’ surface, but on record label three, there is a lesser ‘ridge’ and the surface is 'smooth',
6. comes with its two original period, ‘CBS’ advertising inner sleeves.
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: the spine is in ‘fair’ to ‘good’ condition, the overall condition of the sleeve is in near excellent condition. The front and rear of the sleeve is laminated. As mentioned the spine is in ‘fair’ to ‘good’ condition, as it has a split 120mm from the centre to the top of the spine, so not all of the text on the spine is readable. When the ‘gate fold’ sleeve is opened the original UK early issue ‘flip backs’, ie visual ‘fold over’ edges, seen top and bottom can be seen. When the ‘gate fold’ sleeve is opened there is a slight ‘water mark’ seen to the top of the spine area and there is a name written at the centre, written in black pen.
THE INNER SLEEVES: comes with its two original period ‘CBS’ orange advertising inner sleeves. One inner sleeve is in very good++ condition, there is a slight ‘split’ to each of the side edges and some age related marks on the rear. Theres NO pen writing, tears, stickers or sticker residue to this inner sleeve. The other inner sleeve is in excellent condition. Theres NO pen writing, tears, splits, stickers or sticker residue to this inner sleeve.
THE RECORDS: record one, side one, track one, is in very good condition, the rest of side one is in excellent condition. Side two, is in near excellent condition. Record two, side three is in excellent condition and side four is in excellent++ condition. The records are made from the period, quality 1960s thick, heavy vinyl. The records have remained very dark and glossy.
The records ‘factory engraved’ matrix are: record one, side one, SDDP 66012 A1, also the numbers of, ‘071’, I think it is, are ‘factory engraved’ onto the ‘run off’ groove. Side two, SDDP 66012 B2, also the numbers of ‘014’, I think it is, are ‘factory engraved’ onto the ‘run off’ groove.
Record two, side three, SDDP 66012 C1, also the numbers / letters of, ‘OC1’, I think it is, are ‘factory engraved’ onto the ‘run off’ groove. Side four, SDDP 66012 D1, also the numbers / letters of ‘OP4’, I think it is, are ‘factory engraved’ onto the ‘run off’ groove.
THE AUDIO: record one, side one, on track one I did hear some ‘ticks’ so I will grade track one as playing very good, the rest of side one plays very good++, side one plays with some ‘crackle’. Side two, plays very good++, side two plays with some ‘crackle’. Record two, sides three and four play very good++, side three and four play with some ‘crackle’. Each record plays with a full powerful, period ‘stereo’ sound. Each record lays flat on the turntable.
THE RECORD LABELS: each of the record labels are in excellent++ condition. Each of the record labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.
TO GRADE THE CONDITION OF THE RECORD I AM USING THE GRADING SYSTEM BASED UPON THE GUIDE FROM THE UK'S ‘RECORD COLLECTOR’ MAGAZINE.
