ON TRANSLUCENT RED AND BLUE VINYL.
IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.
In 1970 a group of friends got together and decided to create what would become the most famous bootleg record label of all time ..... Trademark Of Quality .....also known as TMQ, TMOQ, TMOQ 1, and later as TMOQ - 2. Their first release was this now famous 'rubber-stamp' cover G.W.W. There were several colours of jackets including white, green, yellow, PEACH, and purple. The vinyl came in different colour combinations including black, red/yellow and RED/BLUE. The first press had the side three matrix missing and was left blank. Subsequent copies had the error corrected. A year earlier in 1969 a Swedish copy of Great White Wonder started circulating in Europe. The vinyl was black with blank white labels and had the matrixes BD 101 A/B AND BD 102 A/B. It came in a plain white embossed gatefold jacket. This is reputed to be the earliest copy of all. I have just managed to acquire this Swedish set and that is why I am selling my coloured set.
I have play tested all four sides of this coloured set and they all play excellently. There are a few scattered clicks but absolutely no skips and no sticks at all. The vinyl is lovely and shiny with one or two hairlines that are only noticeable in strong light. The labels are clean with no writing or stickers. The sleeve I'm afraid is a bit grubby and shows signs of wear and some splitting especially to the spine which I have tried to show in the photos. The jacket though is still strong and in one piece and accommodates the records very well. The insert is very good and attached to the back of the jacket.
Another copy of this with the same coloured vinyl and a white jacket is currently offered on eBay from Italy at a buy it now price of £154.82! I am not starting my auction with silly money. I believe that a low start price and no reserve gives everyone a fair chance.
