Labels: NM (original "360 sound" with white lettering).
Comments:
INNER BAG SEALED - this was an alternate method of "sealing" LPs in the 50s and 60s that was employed by many of the major labels and their subsidiaries. Albums were sealed inside a plastic inner sleeve that was perforated about 1/4" from one side, and then placed inside an open jacket. The perforated edge could be torn off and thrown away while retaining the remaining 12" x 12" sleeve to continue to house the album. If the perforated edge is still intact, then the record is still in MINT condition and for all practical purposes is STILL SEALED (please see the photo example I've provided).
While first used before "shrink wrapping" became the norm, this approach was still used into the late 60s for albums that were sent to Radio Stations, reviewers and label executives (not LPs destined for record store shelves).
This LP came from the collection of a free-lance writer who wrote liner notes and reviewed albums for many of the large New York labels - Columbia, RCA, Capital and their subsidiaries - from the mid 1950s through the late 1970s.
This is a vintage "stock copy" LP - no cut-out holes or notches and no bar-code.
You'd be hard-pressed to find a cleaner copy than this near mint example - FABULOUS!
