BOB DYLAN – LIKE A ROLLING STONE (Pts. I and II) WHITE LABEL PROMO ON RED VINYL - Columbia JZSP-110939/40 (U.S. 45 rpm Mono). Disc is Near Mint Plus; Labels are Near Mint (Pt. I) and Mint Minus (Pt. II).

Originally issued as a promotional single in two parts (because no one at Columbia ever dreamed that any radio station would actually play a 6 minute single on the air), this version was released both on black and red vinyl (ostensibly to attract disc jockeys who could then easily pick out the red wax from the pile of their other all-black-vinyl rotational entries). This original first pressing promo did not feature standard catalog numbers (in this case Columbia 4-43346). That came later on with full six-minute versions of the single, both promotional and commercial. This Pt. I/Pt. II White Label Promo version of Like A Rolling Stone was pressed in smaller quantities than the full 6-minute version, is scarce, and retains its desirability among Dylan collectors despite condition. [Due to their faster turning speed and wider groove spread, 45 rpm pressings exhibit more detailed playback than LP pressings, which turn slower and feature more compacted groove spread.]

All vinyl records from VinylKing46 (eBay’s ORIGINAL VINYLKING) are pre-cleaned and inserted into paper inner sleeves before mailing to Buyer (unless factory sealed). Discs are packaged separately from sleeves to protect against seam splitting. Sleeves are inserted into mylar outer sleeves and both disc and sleeve are shipped in 7” EP/45-specific boxes and packed with bubble wrap or hard cardboard.

I grade conservatively and by Goldmine standards.
