I'm returning to Ebay after a 2 year sabbatical and unfortunately due to a rapidly decline in health, I have decided to part with my vinyl. I have Parkinsons and it is affecting me daily and it looks likely that I will have to retire and try and make the best of my life. Please ignore the negative feedback from 2 years ago as this was the time I was diagnosed and going through a lot of upheaval.
ALL RECORDS WILL BE DISPATCHED IN 24HOURS AND FULL TRACKING WILL BE PROVIDED WITH A COURTEOUS MESSAGE INFORMING YOU OF DISPATCH. I GIVE YOU MY WORD ON THAT PROMISE.
This will have been cleaned on a PRO-JECT S2 VACCUM MACHINE and I have graded CONSERVATIVELY usually erring on the negative side to ensure that you will receive what you expect.
IN THE VERY RARE INSTANCE OF NOT BEING HAPPY WITH THE ITEM, THEN PLEASE RETURN THE RECORD AND I WILL REFUND THE ITEM WHEN I RECIEVE IT BACK. THERE WILL BE NO NEGOTIATION FOR REDUCTIONS. .
The sleeve is in very good condition with no splits but as you are well aware, these were crudely made with a title cover glued on to a front of the cardboard sleeve. Im pretty sure A3 is a misprint. Shouldnt it be Quit you low down ways??
This was owned by a person who lived in Kentucky and was part of a Bob Dylan appreciation group. They would swap lp's and basically talk Dylan. He returned with 17 of these in the 80s and passed them to me in 1995.
I have just cleaned this. im doing a full test.
The labels are very basic with the contra band label, as is the case with these pressings.
MATRIX WEC-3814
SIDE 1. ( 1962 FINJAN CLUB, MONTREAL ). A nice shine with a few scuffs and I can see 3 indents / blisters / bubbles. I wear hearing aids so I can hear ticks move in dogs as they are so amplified. After the clean virtually no ticks or pops. There is a fair bit of tuning and dialogue at the beginning if the tracks. But wow!!! side 1 played superbly. Not hifi quality sounding, but what do you expect from these recordings. Clear, slightly tinny sound, but raw and sounds like he is playing in your shed. Sometimes inaudible as Dylan is talking away from the micAmazing. Transitions between songs were quiet and seamless. The last track on side 1, Hiram Hubbard, takes ages to get going as Dylan procrastinates, talking and mumbling, and some sections of silence. I would say this track is the worst quality wise. Fully audible, but not as crisp as the others.
Side 2 ( GASLIGHT 1962 )
Quiet intro. Hard Rain track is audible, but similair to Hiram Hubbard. Towards the final third of the track it fades in and out terribly. This has also been well documented on dedicated Gaslight tapes forums.
Everything is ok on track 2. Just a couple clicks. Track 3 good with some background clicks, not overpowering, no skips and jumps but fades in an out in the 2nd half, a bit like hard rain and some parts poor audible quality. Track 4 good quality with clear audio. Same on the remaining tracks with just a couple of clicks.
I will post in mailers with recycled strong RECYCLED stiffeners and I will only post overseas via Royal Mail. I have no idea how long the postage will take though due to the recent Middle East events, but I will send via registered mail.
