Description
Bob Dylan--Like A Rolling Stone (Part I) / (Part II)--Columbia no #, white label promo. 1965 DJ single for the promotion of the Highway 61 Revisited album. The full six-minute version of this title was initially released with the B-side, "Gates Of Eden", and distributed to radio stations here in the U.S. Soon after, due mainly to complaints from program managers concerning the length of the tune, a hurried and limited pressing with the A-side split into Parts I and II was released to accomodate the radio stations for airplay. In the mid-60s, you seldom heard a three-minute song, let alone an epic six-minute tune and the vast majority of stations played Part I only. Please note that Columbia did not issue this release that was split into two parts with a catalog number, as the record was intended for radio stations only and not for sale to the general public. Vinyl is a nice VG with high gloss. Labels have writing on both sides, although very minor on the B-side (see scans please). Rare Dylan collectible! Both promotional versions of "Like A Rolling Stone" are tough to score, but this version with the two parts is a bit more obscure. We combine postage for items listed over a 10-day to two-week span.
