Here's ANOTHER hard to find album in GREAT condition..
Not only is this a hard one to find,but to find it with the lid of the lighter still attached is VERY hard!..
Only the first 20,000 came with the "Zippo" lighter design sleeve..
Issued by Island on 13th April 1973..ILPS 9241..UK pressing in a non laminated sleeve..
The matrix numbers are ILPS 9241 A 3U and ILPS 9241 B 4U..(Scratched out matrix numbers are:..BML 2001 A 3 U and BML 2001 B 4 U)..
Play grade on this is EX minus..Maybe slightly less..Here are the problems to my ears..They are both on side 2..The middle of "Stir it Up" has a VERY small jump..It took very close examination under a strong light to find the problem: a tiny scratch that cannot even be felt by the fingertips..Secondly,there are 3 or 4 light clicks on the middle of "Kinky Reggae"..There is a small scuff on this track and that's the cause of these light clicks..
Apart from which,the disc plays EX..NO other clicks,pops or jumps and a clean,undistorted sound..
Apart from the scuff,the disc looks clean (A couple of light hairlines is all)..It has no highly visible,deep or dangerous marks and it's obvious that this disc has been well looked after..
The disc plays flat on the deck with no edge warps or dishing..
The labels are undamaged..There is absolute minimal spindle wear..I doubt that this has had more than a couple of plays..
The sleeve is EX minus..There is a little wear to the corners and the front has just a hint of dischape..The hinge of the lid is undamaged and it is still firmly attached to the sleeve..
It has no rips,tears,seam splits,stains, scribble,stickers or sellotape or other such defects...
You are welcome to collect this in person or from The Southend Record Fair (11th May,8th June) and then the second Sunday in each month)..Where there are LOADS of great albums and singles offered for sale...
Venue for this fair is West Leigh Schools on the A13..SS9 2JB...Record collections always wanted!.
