BOB MARLEY & THE WAILERS ONE-SIDED UK TEST PRESSING FOR "SLAVE DRIVER" (studio version)
According to the authoritive Roots Knotty Roots reference book for Jamaican music 45s, there was only one release by Island in the UK of "Slave Driver" on a seven inch. And the matrix number for that version is WIP 6167. Well, the matrix number on this 45 is WIP 1269. (The matrix number is stamped-not hand written-into the run-off groove.) What that means is: most likely, this MONO mix is unreleased and unheard. For example, from the left speaker of the released (stereo) version, there is an acoustic guitar playing solo notes. That guitar is not in this mix.
I worked for Island in the UK office in the 70s and in the L.A. office in the 80s.
Record is in Mint Unplayed condition. This record has been played less than five times.
