Description
Original 1982 lp on R.G.TL (001) Bob Theil ‘So Far’. This is the extremely rare u.k. lp from Bob Theil. Released privately by Bob himself in 1982,this is his first lp. Very sought after by folk/rock collectors worldwide.This is probably the greatest and most important u.k. private pressing acid folk lp that has been released within the last three decades.All of the tracks on this lp are Theil originals and most of the ten tracks here were written by him in the early to mid 1970’s and the music throughout the lp has a definite 70’s feel and sound. Great singer/songwriter with amazing lyrics and such a distinctive twelve string acoustic guitar sound. The music on this lp has a strong celtic,folk and in places rock feel and is most easily described as acid folk music at it’s very best. There are some great session musicians here too. Bill Power on bass.Jimmy Litherland on electric guitar. Jim Covington on electric and acoustic lead guitar. Jed Marchant on guitar and piano.Steve Hall on keys and Mark Brezicki on drums who later went on to play with Big Country. Included is the 7” EP that originally accompanied the lp and features five tracks,three of which appear on the album. This is a very rare and musically important lp in beautiful condition complete with lyric insert and EP with lyric insert. Tracks on the lp are Yesterdays,Lady,One Day Today Or Tomorrow,Moments Lost,So Far,Westway,Reflections,Wind In The Wires,Who Are We Now? and December 1918. Tracks on the EP are Post Mortom Blues,Moments Lost,Reflections,Another Flight and Westway. This lp very occasionally turns up on folk/psych dealers lists.When it does it is usually listed at around £200.I have known it to sell for considerably more! My reserve price is considerably less than £200! Both records (lp and ep) are in mint condition and look unplayed.The lp sleeve is excellent+ with the slightest creasing on top left corner which is barely noticeable.The EP sleeve is in mint condition.Both lyric inserts are in mint condition.
