Description
Rare 1962 mono copy of Bobby Boris Pickett's " The Original Monster Mash" on Garpax Records GPX57001 w/ the added track "Monster's Holiday" and the added hype sticker on the front cover.
Description from Discogs:
"In November 1962 the album was reissued with a new track, "Monsters' Holiday", the current single by Bobby (Boris) Pickett And The Crypt-Kickers. In fact, the reverse of the "Monsters' Holiday" 45 picture sleeve has a depiction of this album with this track included. The new song was placed as Track B1 (replacing "Transylvania Twist" on this version). The same front and back cover of the 1st press was reused with "Transylvania Twist" still listed on Side 2. However, the front cover included an oversized red/white holly leaf wreath sticker with the following text, "Including the #1 Christmas Hit MONSTERS' HOLIDAY".
Rare find in this condition! Fantastic collectors item!
Record: VG+. This LP has minor signs of use and storage. But considering this LP's age, this copy sounds wonderful. There is minor noise present in the quietest moments between songs, etc. I did not hear anything that took away from the listening quality of this LP. Especially the title track "Monster Mash" sounds excellent! Play tested, sounds great.
Cover: VG/VG+ See photos above. The only reason this cover may be a VG is because the rear cover has a crease in the bottom right cover and minor signs of fading and ringwear. But this crease doesn't show on the front. The front image and hype sticker look excellent!
