This is Darin at his rockin' best. Why these tracks were held back until 1960 is a mystery. The opening rocker - 'I Want You With Me' is as good a rock & roll recording as anything Bobby recorded in his career and should have been issued as a single by Atco. It obviously caught the attention of Elvis who recorded it for his 1960 RCA album, although Darin's original is markedly superior. Some of the other songs here were eventually issued as singles, including 'Somebody To Love' and 'Keep A Walkin'. The last half dozen tracks are a bit more downtempo in the ballad vein and these include his great version of 'Lucky Old Sun', as well as 'Hush Somebody's Calling My Name', a song recorded by Damita Jo on Mercury as her follow-up to 'I'll Save The Last Dance For You'. Totally recommended!

This album is the very hardest to find of all Bobby Darin albums; Mint copies are known to exchange hands as much as $200, and still sealed copies are all but unknown. (e)         The record is  apparently pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(f)          Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!
