"BOBBY JASPAR" - BOBBY JASPAR QUINTET - LONDON LTZ-U 15128 - WOW!! what a find!!!!! - - A MEGA RARE item superbly recorded in mono, on the great UK London label!! - A far, far superior quality of recording can be found here compared to it's US counterpart! - - The MAGNIFICENT Bobby Jaspar, is brilliantly supported her by none other than the legendary George Wallington trio, himself, the awesome Wilbur Little on bass, plus the meticulous ever swinging Elvin Jones in the drum spot. His front line partner is none other than the great Idrees Sulieman on trumpet. - -Jaspar excels here, playing mostly tenor but some exquisite flute as well. - - One of JJ's favourite all time reed men, he does not disappoint here for one second, what a great loss to have such a mega talent taken from us so young!! - - The whole of this marvellous programee is at all times, the truest of straight ahead jazz, ever exciting, ever moving, it is a total joy in jazz listening. The trax are: Jaspar's own, "Seven up", the classic, "My old flame", Cole Porters evergreen masterpiece, "All of you", a brilliant essay from the pen of Silieman, "Doublemint", plus 2 Wallington originals and surely among his finest, "Before Dawn" and finally, "Sweet Blanche". - - This is an album to die for and so very difficult to find!!!!! - -In addition the vinyl is in super shape, especially considering it is almost 47 years old!!!!!! Just VERY MINOR surface noise in only a couple of places. - - The FLIPBACK jacket too is complete, clean and shiny with a brilliant white back and no splits or tears, very attractive & AMAZING for it's age! - -This would make a great addition to your collection and I repeat, it is RARE,RARE,RARE!! - DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS ONE, YOU'LL LOOK LONG AND HARD FOR ANOTHER-- GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!
