BOLD s/t 7” orange vinyl (pink/orange mix ?) Revelation Youth of Today GB SxE
Up for auction is an original 1st press BOLD “s/t” 7” on orange vinyl! (… it may be a pink/orange mix one, depending on Your point of view, the sunlight, the flash of the camera, the other record you compare it with, or whatever)
The record is in vg+ condition (I am the third owner. I played it once to tape it).
The sleeve is in vg+ condition (no visible defects besides a slight ½” crease on upper left corner).
The insert is in m- condition (no visible defects).
The record has been stored in a clean smoke-free and pet-free home.
I don’t know why the uploaded photos look that bad … I can send the originals on request.
Only 1000 orange vinyl copies were made by Revelation Records in 1989. I bought this record from a german collector by the end of the 1990s. I visited him in Berlin back than and I had the choice to pick one out of two. I remember that I picked the one with a gentle white/pinkish splotch and a slightly more salmon/peach tone compared to the other. You all know the story of the “pink/orange mix” copies which could fill a record-collector-thesis. Here’s my point: if You own 10 of these, you will own 10 different shades of the color. Capturing the true color tone(s) in a photo is impossible, too. So just to be sure that I’m not falling short of anybody’s expectations I’m declaring this copy as an orange vinyl one. I’m parting with the record as it never really fit into my collection and my parents are urging me for years now to reduce the storage room of my (immense) youthful memories in their (small) cellar. More than that, the record is just too beautiful to be stored away in a dark “archive”. It deserves more attention in a loving home.
